Limited Edition
Hanhart has just released a brand new collection of four limited edition watches totaling 150 pieces - the Hanhart Primus Fly Navy.
Choose from a black PVD case or stainless steel, with your choice of the Marinefliegergeschwader MFG3 crest (Graf Zeppelin) or MFG5 crest.
This specific watch features a black PVD steel case with the MFG5 crest, and we are now accepting reservations for the first pieces.
Various naval details can be found throughout this new watch. Contrasting against the nautical blue dial is a bold yellow trident serving as the base of the chronograph seconds hand, in reference to the crest of German Naval Aviation Squadron.
A matching yellow Marineflieger logo is featured on the dial just below the center post, and the emblem is also etched into the crown. The limited edition number can be found on the rotor along with "Fly Navy."
The MFG5 coat of arms includes waves, a sea eagle, an anchor, and wings. The eagle's head alludes to the group's mission of preserving airspace sovereignty above the seas.
Contemporary, But True to its DNA
This watch is a contemporary interpretation of Hanhart's legendary pilot's chronographs and is ideal for precision timekeeping in flight.
Although contemporary in design, this watch remains true to one of the brand's most distinctive features - the red pusher - introduced in 1939 to prevent pilots from unintentionally resetting the chronograph while in operation.
The red coating on this pusher has been improved over the years thanks to dental technology so that it remains a permanent part of the watch.
An Interesting Movement Design
To create this chronograph bicompax movement, Hanhart has made a number of movement modifications to the traditional chronograph layout.
These modifications were carried out under the direction of Manufacture La Joux-Perret, and included adjusting the registers to correctly and proportionally fit the size of the dial (rather than the "pinched look" seen in other chronograph watches of this size).
Additional movement modifications were necessary to increase the spacing of the chronograph pushers to a more comfortable position, even while wearing gloves.
The result is an incredibly good looking watch that is easy to read, easy to operate and easy to wear.
The Hanhart engraved folding clasp is one of the best made that we have seen on any watch brand and is also stainless steel with a black PVD finish. The textile strap is available in either blue or black.
Additional features of this watch include:
- Limited edition of 150 pieces
- Naval crests on dial and sapphire case back
- Skeletonized Hanhart rotor with limited edition number
- Fluted bezel with inlaid red marking
- Convex sapphire crystal with interior AR coating
- Flexible lugs (a design unique to Hanhart)
- Vivid blue dial with green SuperLuminova on hands, numerals and indices
- Hanhart trademark red chronograph button
- Oversized screw down crown with crest
- Black PVD finish
This watch is water resistant to 100 meters.
