Product Details

The Hanhart MK II chronograph is one of the brand's most iconic designs, making its debut in 1939.

And in all the years since this watch was first introduced, it has never featured a panda (or reverse panda) dial - until now.

Introducing the very much requested Hanhart Pioneer MK II chronograph with a reverse panda dial.

An Instant Classic

Chronographs with "panda" dials have long been sought after by collectors of vintage watches.  A traditional panda dial will feature a white dial with black chronograph sub dials, while a reverse (or inverse) panda dial will have a black base with white sub dials.

This color scheme was very popular for racing, space, and pilot's chronographs in the '60s and '70s, and in recent years has become a heavily requested feature on chronograph watches.

This watch is powered by a Valjoux 7753 calibre with two register displays, which Hanhart then modifies to create asymmetrical pushers.

What is special about this watch is the placement of the chronograph pushers - they are asymmetrical rather than evenly spaced as on other chronograph watches.  Hanhart has modified the movement to relocate the top pusher further from the crown, providing for ease of use.

The distinctive red pusher is a Hanhart trademark and dates back to early Hanhart pilot's watch designs.  Hanhart created this design to warn pilots against accidentally resetting the chronograph timing functions during flight.

This two register chronograph features a white 30 minute register at 3 and a white small seconds sub dial at 9.  The case is in stainless steel and is fitted with a fluted bi-directional friction fit rotating bezel with red indicator.

Other features include:

  • Convex sapphire crystal
  • Screw down case back
  • Distinctive cathedral hands
  • Large crown with deep beveled edge
  • SuperLuminova on numerals and hands
  • Power reserve of 42 hours

This watch is water resistant to 100 meters and is fitted with a Hanhart vintage black riveted calf skin strap with tang buckle.
