Product Details

The Dornblueth & Sohn Quintus watches are now available in two case sizes - 38.5 mm and 40.0 mm.

This Quintus model is housed in a 38.5 mm case and is perfect for medium to smaller wrist sizes.

Featuring Dirk's designed and manufactured movement, this watch boasts one of the highest content of handmade parts of any mechanical watch on the market today (even the dial is made in-house).

50th Anniversary Watch With In-House Movement

Dornblueth & Sohn watches have always been very difficult for us to keep in stock.

One of the very factors that makes Dornblueth & Sohn watches so collectible is the same cause of the stocking issue - extremely low production with many handmade parts.

And the Dornblueth & Sohn Quintus Klassik is currently among the most difficult to obtain.

This watch celebrates Dirk's father's 50th anniversary in the watchmaking craft, and more importantly is the culmination of years of research, testing and effort to both design and build this calibre.

The Quintus Klassik Design

This watch features the Dornblueth & Sohn Calibre 2010 which was both developed and created from Dirk's workshops in Kalbe, Germany.

Among the many amazing features of this movement is the patent pending double barrel Maltese cross spring providing a linear torque of power to the movement.

In most mechanical watches, the run rate and timekeeping are different when the movement is fully wound in comparison to when it runs down.

Dirk's solution is a 52 hour power reserve system that stabilizes the consumption of power by the watch resulting in more consistent timekeeping regardless of the tension on the main spring.

This watch takes its Klassik name from the "classic" three hand design with oversized crown.

The movement is beautifully finished and decorated by hand.

The Dornblueth & Sohn Quintus Klassik incorporates a Glucydur screw balance with Nivarox-1-Breguet spring along with Swan-neck fine adjustment on hand-engraved balance cock.

As is traditional for watches made in the Glashutte region of Germany, this watch features a 3/4 plate, screwed gold chatons and elaborate hand decoration and finish.

The movement is finished with applied rose gold, while yellow gold is used to indicate the manufactory name and serial number.  The front of the watch is fitted with a slightly domed sapphire crystal with interior anti-reflective coating, while the back uses a screwed sapphire back display.

Hand Engraved Dial

The dial is created in-house using the same engraving techniques used to produce old pendulum clocks.  The dial surface is finished with a silky matte surface (this finish was applied in historical ship chronometers).

After the dial is engraved, Dirk applies black to the engraved areas for a clear high contrast display.  The hour and minute hands are centrally mounted with the seconds display at 6.

In Summary, An Amazing Watch

This watch represents the very best of Dornblueth & Sohn.

As in all of his watches, Dirk has no CNC computer machines on premises to make his watches.  His watches are among the very highest in the industry to use hand workmanship rather than computer code.

And his calibre 2010 is not only an engineering feat but also a beautifully designed, finished and decorated component of the Quintus Klassik.

This watch is fitted with a 20 mm calf leather Dornblueth strap of Dirk's preferred color for this watch - matte black.

This watch is water resistant to 30 meters.
