Product Details

Jochen Benzinger is considered one of the world's best watch artisans for engraving, guilloche dials and skeletonized movements. Jochen lives and works near the Black Forest region of Germany, and that is where he creates masterpieces.

With this watch Jochen proves again why his old-world craftsmanship skills are among the elite in his profession.


Full skeleton watches have always been on the wish list of serious watch collectors, but when you add the fact that this watch is made by hand (and not skeletonized by a computer program) the result is amazing. In other words, this is the real thing.

To create this watch, Jochen makes extensive use of historic rose engines, while the movement is hand skeletonized and hand engraved, using many patterns and complementary colors. The entire movement must be completely disassembled with each movement part hand engraved and polished, many using elaborate designs. Jochen designs and completes his creations in-house along with a group of German master watchmakers.

This watch features a hand-skeletonized dial in sterling silver with a ribbon guilloche and Breguet frost finish, and the steel hands are designed in a leaf shape. The movement and groundplate are guilloched and skeletonized in a black PVD finish. The movement also features flame-blued screws and white Rhodium. 

The case is made in Pforzheim with high grade steel, has a combination of polished and brushed finishes, and features a sapphire crystal on the front and back.

This watch ships with a calf leather strap and stainless steel buckle.

The Rose Engine

The rose engine is a type of geometric lathe, many of which date back more than 100 years.

Operated entirely by hand, each cut must be precisely made or the entire watch component is ruined and must be started again.

There are very few craftsmen in the world who are trained as experts in the operations of rose engines, engine turning and hand guilloche, and these techniques are employed in all Jochen Benzinger watches.

The Graver

This hand tool is the same as employed by the 16th century German painter and engraver Albrecht Durer.

A skeleton saw (or "fine fretsaw") is usually associated with work done by master goldsmiths, but Jochen Benzinger use this tool to create the skeletonizing of the bridges.
