This watch is classic Hanhart at its best.

The Pioneer MK II is based upon the design of Hanhart's first pilot's chronograph watch, first introduced in 1939.

What is interesting about this watch is the placement of the chronograph pushers - they are asymmetrical rather than evenly spaced as on other chronograph watches.

Hanhart has modified the movement to relocate the top pusher further from the crown, providing for ease of use.

The red reset pusher is a Hanhart design and was developed as a warning mechanism to pilots using this chronograph in flight.

This two register chronograph features a 30 minute register at 3 and small seconds at 9.  The case is in stainless steel and is fitted with a fluted bi-directional rotating bezel with red indicator. 


Other features include:

  • Convex sapphire crystal with interior AR coating
  • Screw down case back
  • Large crown with deep beveled edge
  • Matte black dial with SuperLuminova on numerals and hands
  • Power reserve of 42 hours

This watch is water resistant to 100 meters and is fitted with a vintage black riveted calf skin strap with tang buckle.

I received my Hanhart Pioneer MKII yesterday. Photos of this watch do it no justice. The unboxing of this watch exceeded my expectations. This timeless watch design had all of the appeal, character, and quality, I was told that it had.

I love this watch. I highly recommend this timepiece to those looking for a watch with all the elements described above, at a great price.

I have never owned one but have kept up with the different venues where the brand has been offered for sale. I knew exactly what I should be getting and how much I should be paying for it.
