Limited Edition of 50 Pieces
This watch was designed by Hanhart in collaboration with the Austrian Air Force. Created as a single button pilot's chronograph, it pays homage to aviation history while providing pilots with modern functionality.
Only 50 pieces of this watch will be produced with the rotating fluted bezel. The limited edition number is indicated on the case back of each watch.
Leonardo AW169M Helicopter
The AW169M is a military helicopter utilized by the Austrian Air Force for both day and night missions.
Its performance and dependability on airborne missions matches that of the Hanhart Pioneer collection of pilots watches.
As a nod to early aviation history and to the Italian company behind the AQ169M, Leonardo, this watch features Leonardo da Vinci's famous "aerial screw" sketch at 6.
This limited edition watch distinguishes itself from other Hanhart chronographs with its distinct color scheme. The dial is dark green, while the sub dials and logo are orange.
Single Button Chronograph
Hanhart introduced their first single button chronograph in 1938 which was then known as Calibre 40.
A single button chronograph provides ease of use in that one pusher is used to start, stop and reset the chronograph.
Even today Hanhart continues to produce in-house the movement modifications necessary to incorporate the single button function by using an erosion machine to modify the contour of the cam.
Red Chronograph Pusher
With so many watch brands producing chronograph watches, it's refreshing to see Hanhart taking the lead with the single button complication in much of their collection.
Besides ease of use, this design attracts a great deal of interest as a conversation point since the functions differ from a standard chronograph.
The distinctive red pusher is a Hanhart trademark and dates back to early Hanhart pilot's watch designs.
Another Hanhart movement modification is the increased spacing between the pusher and the crown to improve ease of use.
As with their other larger watches, Hanhart has taken the time to modify the movement to correctly space the chronograph registers to the case size.
These modifications, as well as those to create the single button chronograph function are developed and produced under the supervision of Hanhart's watchmakers by La Joux-Perret.
This two register chronograph features a 30 minute register at 3 and small seconds at 9. The case is in stainless steel and is fitted with a fluted bi-directional rotating bezel with red indicator.
Other features include:
- Convex sapphire crystal with interior AR coating
- Screw down case back
- Large crown with deep beveled edge
- Fluted friction fit bezel
- Military green dial
-
SuperLuminova SLN C3 GL
- Power reserve of 42 hours
This watch is water resistant to 100 meters and is fitted with a vintage brown calf skin strap with white stitching and a tang buckle.
