The Muhle Glashutte 29er Chronograph is another example of Muhle's commitment and pride in building nautical instruments. This watch is named after the 29er class which is a high performance skiff boat developed by Julian Bethwaite.
When we visited Muhle's watchmaking facilities in Glashutte, Germany, we were amazed to learn about the long history of the Muhle family and their production of nautical instruments. We were pleased to see this new watch while still in development, and knew that it would be popular given its clean look and crisp design.
The movement in this watch is of special note. Muhle starts with a Valjoux 7750, but then modifies and/or replaces many parts in-house. For example, Muhle has manufactured a Glashutte style three quarter train plate with removable jewel setting over the escapement wheel.
Further refinements include an in-house regulation system called a "woodpecker regulation" based upon the unique design, automatic bridge and in-house rotor with traditional Glashutte decoration throughout. The result is a chronograph calibre worthy of both the Muhle and Glashutte names.
This watch features a case design with a perfect diameter of 43 mm. The case features a combination of satin and polished surfaces.
Dial is matte black with applied silver polished markers and SuperLuminova five minute markers. Three register chronograph functions with date indicator at 4.
Black calf leather strap with tang buckle.
