"105 ST SA"

Verified Watch Owner Comments: I had been looking at the 104 for more than 2 years. I loved everything besides the polished case and ever so slightly busy dial. I wanted something with a bit more flair and something that was a little more every day capable, this is relative and specific to me obviously.
Enter the 105, I was instantly hooked, it was what I had been waiting for from Sinn. This is my first real watch so take this with a few grains of salt. I'm not a watch snob but I knew I wanted an automatic no acceptions, I'm a cry once buy once guy. No matter the financials this is not a throw away or consumable item. Enough blabbering how is the damn watch? It's everything I had hoped and researched for and nothing else. The sandblasted case finish is amazing, matte steel, it plays with the surrounding light just as you'd expect.
Subdued, but subdued by necessity, toolish. The case itself is machined to perfection, no surprises here. The transfer from lug, to main case, to crown guard is exceptional. Smooth and rigid where needed. A tip of the hat to the design and manufacturing, a perfect marriage. The screw down crown has many threads to keep it secure and waterproof, also no grainy feel here while twisting, you can feel the crown pushing against the gasket in a very positive way, no overtightening risk here, you'll know when to stop. The bezel, I can picture some saying it's not refined enough while turning.
This watch is designed for function, the ball detent feel is exactly as expected, 60 click, industrial feeling, no mistaking that you've moved the bezel however many minutes. Moving to the bezels pvd coating, matte black, it appears that the hour and minute numbering are just tegimented steel with the pvd coating applied around these indications. I have not been able to test the resistance of this coating as I've only had this watch for 2 weeks. The hour and minute indicator numbering on the bezel are crisp, very crisp, impressively so. Even if overlayed onto the bezels pvd coating as it may be, it is very sharp.
The captive bezel, I believe that is the correct terminology, has no play anywhere as far as I can detect. It is secured with 4 screws, at the 10, 12, 2, and 6 position. The fact that the watch has this feature gives me every confidence to wear this every day. The dial is flat black and has some reflective quality, not matte as I had originally thought. The minute indicators are not raised at all as far as I can tell with just my eyes. The hour indictators do have a very slight raise to them, I'm talking barely so as to hold the C1 X1 lume. Not amazing lume per reddit comments but I can definitely read the time at 4 am if I fall asleep wearing it, no issues.
The Sinn logo on the dial is just printed, the same as the minute indices on the dial, I wish this was raised a small bit to add some 3d effect. I'm proud to wear the brand as they should be proud of their products and draw attention to the name. The date and day function is easy to read at a glance, I like the font choice, no complaints here. The hands are well... just hands, no frills, besides lume. I do like how they put lume on the second hand, not necessary but a nice touch. The 28,800 bph makes for a smooth seconds hand and brings class and refinement to the piece, there's no mistaking this is a quality watch with the smooth sweep. The orange seconds hand doesn't stand out, but is noticed when studying the watch, don't be afraid of the orange. Mine keeps +3 seconds per day, may actually be +2.5 seconds per day but I have no way to measure. I appreciate the fact that it has a Sellita movement customized by Sinn and calibrated by Sinn as well. The open caseback viewed through sapphire, same as the front, is a nice touch and to be expected as this watch is a variation of the 104. 200m water resistance is impressive given the open caseback, and overkill, perfectly in keeping with the ethos of this watch.
The 41mm fits beautifully on my 7 inch, 18cm wrist and blends In, no issues. I have no take on the steel H link bracelet as I've only had the watch on the rubber diving strap/clasp(the $300 one, SI-978, not basic butterfly) Reserving the H link for a more upscale event. The TLDR too long didn't read is as follows. The watch has been engineered and designed to be tough and understated while being somewhat classy at the same time. The materials and movement in combination make for a purpose made watch, there is no denying this at the first or 50th glance.
Truly purpose made and nothing else, a beautiful blend of form and function to the right wearer. If you couldn't tell I am absolutely in love with the 105 st sa, if you read till the end thanks for hanging in there.

Verified Watch Owner Comments: Thank you Watchbuys for an excellent purchasing experience. The post-purchase follow-up phone call with one of your customer service reps was great. It made me feel as though I was a truly appreciated customer.
My Sinn 105 St Sa is everything I hoped it would be. Very please with all aspects of the purchasing experience. Thank you!
"A highly useful modern tool watch"
Rob
Verified Watch Owner Comments: The Sinn 105 has everything I look for in a tool watch. The domed crystal allows for an unimpeded view of the crisp, legible, symmetrical dial underneath. Day and date at a glance are highly useful in my daily routine.
The black bezel, bead blasted case, and bracelet are nicely built without the bling I usually don't need. The size and thickness make this watch comfortably wearable. The only negative for me is the clasp. I don't want a diver's extension on a watch like this. I want tool-less micro adjust. Please Sinn. Otherwise, a fantastic watch!
"great watch, as reviewed elsewhere"
Doc
Verified Watch Owner Comments: As can be seen on reviews on YT, this watch is a beautiful and fantastically functional watch. The face is a beautiful matte black, the hands and hour markers are clear and unambiguous without being ostentatious, The bead blasted SS finish is even and pleasant, and the dark tegimented bezel is beautiful and functional.
Also of note, the lume is excellent. The time can be read in all hours of the day and night in all light conditions.
On the down side, the matching bracelet is a bit loose, as has been mentioned in online reviews. I would consider the strap version over the bracelet were I purchasing this watch again.
With respect to accuracy, it seems to lose a second or two a day.
"German Excellence"

Verified Watch Owner Comments: After owning this fine German piece for a few weeks now, I finally feel comfortable leaving a reviews. To put my opinions into perspective, my collection ranges from $20-$6k per piece.
Firstly, and perhaps most importantly for some, the accuracy is more than acceptable, with mine running +/- 3 seconds per day. Secondly, the looks. This watch is really stunning yet understated in the metal. The matte dial and anti-reflective coating is flawless. Highly legible and functional complications with the bezel fulfilling numerous practical abilities.
I generally run from day-date or even just date only watches like the plague, they never look symmetric or well done. This watch is a complete exception, perfectly executed. I bought this to be an everyday beater with approx half my time on computer and the other half with hands on patients and I have no doubts this watch will hold up for some time.
I look forward to my next Sinn timepiece from Watchbuys! Very unique personal and professional experience from an online retailer.
"Fantastic Watch!"

Verified Watch Owner Comments: Love the modern and unique design of this watch. I purchased it with the bracelet but it looks just as good on all of the various other straps Ive tried with it. This watch is a 10 out of 10!
"My first Sinn and I'm impressed"
Brian P
Verified Watch Owner Comments: Bought this after making a decent profit off a 16800 Submariner that I had for nearly a decade. Love the unique look with the day/date at the 6 o'clock index. It's incredibly well built and quite accurate. My only minor gripe is there is room for improvement in the clasp. I'm not worried about it failing, but it doesn't feel as well-engineered as the rest of the watch.
"Sinn addicted"

Verified Watch Owner Comments: From the first EZM1 to now more than 15 Sinn watches I continue to be impressed with the passion for engineering, design and as Louis Sullivan said, "form follows function.” The new 105 is beautiful in the stark simplicity of the dial making reading information instant.
And, the matte bezel and satinized finish makes this tool watch a touch softer on the eyes. Nothing more can be said about the Watchbuys team. They got it right. Very informed about every detail of their offerings, attentive to the smallest concerns and I feel after all these many years buying from them that they are my friends as they would certainly be to first time buyers as well. This is how a community is formed.
