New BaselWorld 2017 Release - Now in Stock
The new Fortis Stratoliner series is designed to handle the rigors of flights in the earth's stratosphere, 15-50 kilometers above sea level, which is why this watch merits the title of a Cosmonautis.
Dating back to the early 1960's, the Stratoliner Collection has been used by pilots during reconnaissance flights at altitudes of 20,000 meters and above.
The inspiration for the Fortis Cosmonautis Stratoliner All Black Limited Edition comes from looking out into the dark void of deep space. The watch is intended to celebrate mankind's foray into the exosphere, and eventually, beyond.
The Stratoliner All Black Limited Edition is housed a 42 mm case with complete chronograph functions. The dial is a combination of dark grey and black. The grey is highlighted throughout the dial and black accentuates the sub-dials and outer dial.
Screwed pushers drive the chronograph, which features a central chronograph hand and subdials at 12 and 6, all with bright white hands which stand out against the dark backdrop.
The matte black ceramic bezel perfectly complements the case design and finish, providing balance to the watch as a whole. Integrated into the bezel is a tachymeter which can be used for speed calculations.
Important features of this watch include:
- Limited to 200 pieces
- Double coated AR sapphire crystal
- Transparent case back
- Crown guard
- Day/date display
- Water resistant to 100 meters
This watch is fitted with a Fortis black calf leather strap with black stitching and tang buckle.
