The Desert Pilot With Attitude
One of our favorite Hanhart watches is and will always be the Hanhart Primus Pilot Desert Sand.
That watch is one of the most difficult Hanhart watches for us to keep in stock, and for good reason - it's a great design and not another "me too" watch.
Now, Hanhart has turned up the attitude with the Hanhart Primus Desert Pilot Dark Limited Edition, limited to 100 pieces worldwide (with the limited edition number engraved on the rotor).
This watch takes all that's great in the Hanhart Primus Pilot Desert Sand but incorporates a case finish in black DLC - diamond like carbon.
This black case provides a sharp contrast to the sand colored dial, adding a sportier and rugged look.
An Added Bonus From Vulkanus
In creating this special watch, Hanhart wanted to include something special and equally sporty.
This watch is packaged with a high quality Vulkanus Hornet utility knife with a belt pouch. This knife can be operated with one hand and is equally suitable for left and right handed operation.
The 8 cm blade is made from D2 steel with a hardness of 61 HRC to guarantee both durability and low maintenance, even under tough operating conditions.
This knife was developed together with knifemaker Harald Stahlegger, former president of the Austrian Knifemakers and known in the trade as "Aquarius".
The Hanhart Primus Pilot series is a contemporary take on legendary pilot's chronographs, and is ideal for precision timekeeping in the air.
Although contemporary in design, this watch remains true to one of the brand's most distinctive features - the red pusher - introduced in 1939 to prevent pilots from unintentionally resetting the stop time.
This collection cleverly combines traditional elements with state-of-the-art technology and progressive design.
To create this chronograph bicompax movement, Hanhart has made a number of movement modifications carried out under the direction of Manufacture La Joux-Perret.
These modifications include adjusting the registers to correctly and proportionally fit the size of the dial (rather than the "pinched look" seen in other chronograph watches of this size).
Important features of this watch include:
- Hanhart designed bicompax chronograph modifications from Manufacture La Joux-Perret
- Skeletonized Hanhart rotor with limited edition number
- Fluted bezel with inlaid red marking
- Convex sapphire crystal with interior AR coating
- Sapphire crystal display back
- Black DLC case
- Flexible lugs (a design unique to Hanhart)
- Sand colored dial with SuperLuminova on hands, numerals and indices
- Hanhart trademark red chronograph button
- Oversized screw down crown
- Water resistant to 100 meters
- Tan textile strap with black PVD folding clasp
- Limited edition of 100 pieces
