Final Pieces

This limited edition watch is now completely sold out at Hanart and we have just received the final pieces.

This is your last chance to purchase this watch.

80 Years of the MK II
Hanhart MK II

This Hanhart watch was 80 years in the making, and trust us it was worth the wait.

In 1940 Hanhart introduced a new two pusher chronograph that they named the MK II (shown to the right), and this model quickly became one of the most popular models in the company's history.

This MK II is officially named the "80 Jahre Jubilaeum" or 80th Anniversary, and sports a very special dial to pay tribute to Hanhart's location deep in the German Black Forest.

A Special Dial - Black Forest Green

When Hanhart decided to create an 80th anniversary MK II, they knew the dial had to stand out.Black Forest

And they didn't have to look far for inspiration - just outside their factory windows in Guttenbach is the German Black Forest (Schwarzwald).

The Black Forest is a large forested mountain range in the Baden-Wurttemberg region of Germany, and gets its name from the dense cluster of beech and pine trees.

Hanhart calls the dial "Black Forest Green", and its matte color perfectly complements the matte finish of the bead blasted case.  This dial changes from darker green to lighter green depending upon the lighting.

Other Unique Features

The Hanhart Pioneer MK II Jubilaeum Limited Edition is designed to be distinctive within the Pioneer series.

Further distinguishing this watch from its predecessors, this watch features a sapphire display case back to show off the elaborately decorated movement and Hanhart skeletonized rotor.  This is the first Hanhart Pioneer Chronograph to feature a display back.

The limited edition number of each watch is engraved into the case back.

While the standard Hanhart Pioneer MK II has a brushed steel case, this watch features a matte, bead blasted case.

Pioneer MK II Heritage

The Hanhart Pioneer MK II is one of Hanhart's best selling watches of all time.

What is interesting about the Pioneer MK II is the placement of the chronograph pushers - they are asymmetrical rather than evenly spaced as on other chronograph watches.  Hanhart achieves this functionality through a number of movement modifications.

Hanhart adjusts this movement to six positions for outstanding accuracy.

The red reset pusher is a Hanhart design and was developed as a warning mechanism to pilots using this chronograph in flight.

This bi-compax chronograph features a 30 minute register at 3 and small seconds at 9.  The case is in bead blasted stainless steel and is fitted with a friction fluted bi-directional rotating bezel with red indicator.

Important features of this watch include:

  • Limited edition of 200 pieces
  • Sapphire display case back
  • Elaborately decorated movement with blued screws, perlage and Hanhart skeletonized rotor
  • Matte, bead blasted stainless steel case
  • Large crown with deep beveled edge
  • Black Forest Green dial with GL SuperLuminova on numerals and hands
  • Convex sapphire crystal with interior AR coating
  • Movement is adjusted in six positions
  • Power reserve of 42 hours

This watch is water resistant to 100 meters and is fitted with a green canvas strap with a bead blasted tang buckle.

Great Watchbuys experience

"Great Watchbuys experience"

Verified Owner Comments: First, let me say that the team at Watchbuys did a great job at answering my questions and promptly sent the watch out. My complements to your customer care team. Now for the watch, to be honest, for the price, I’m a bit disappointed in this piece. When using the chronograph function, which is what Hanhart is known for, the second hand doesn’t actually sweep, but seems to click more around the dial. I have other examples of this base movement from other watch companies and I know this movement can be very smooth. Next is the color of the dial. I love green, it’s my favorite color. This green is good, but not as great as it could be. Then there is the size. This is a large watch and it wears like a large watch. I have many watches that are on the larger end, 41mm up to 46mm, but this one feels much larger than it actually is. On my wrist, it just doesn’t rest flat like my Sinn, Breitling and IWC watches of similar size do. I like the history behind the watch and will continue to wear ... - more details
