Welcome Back
By now you're probably familiar with the popular Hanhart 417 ES Chronograph, which Hanhart has been introducing in different configurations and sizes over the last few years.
But if you really know your Hanhart history, you may also be aware of an even rarer two register chronograph, one that caught our interest as we were reviewing old Hanhart watch catalogs several years ago at Hanhart's manufactory in Guttenbach, Germany.
That chronograph is the Hanhart 415 ES, and we're pleased to announce that this important timepiece is once again in production at Hanhart.
Historic Design
In the 1960s, Hanhart produced the 415 ES Chronograph in several configurations.
The most significant feature of the Hanhart 415 ES was the inclusion of a bi-directional rotating bezel with 60 minute graduations. This model was the first in the company's history to feature a numeric pilot's bezel rather than a fluted bezel.
Several years ago, we met with Hanhart's watch development team and were all intrigued by a specific 415 ES configuration that featured straight hands, a tachymeter scale, and a red hundredths scale (original watch pictured).
Hanhart has based this new watch on that model using modern watchmaking technologies and materials, and the new Hanhart 415 ES Chronograph is now available for reservation.

Modern Upgrades
The new Hanhart 415 ES Chronograph is a combination of vintage inspiration and modern technology.
Hanhart has chosen the two register SW510 M manually wound chronograph caliber to power this new watch with an extended power reserve of 58 hours.
In addition, the new 415 ES Chronograph features a domed sapphire crystal with an interior anti-reflective coating.
The watch is water resistant to 100 meters, and the case is antimagnetic to 16,000 A/m.
Wings Logo
The Hanhart 415 ES Chronograph dial features the iconic Hanhart "wings logo," a symbol synonymous with the brand since it made its debut on the original 415 ES in the 1960s.
This is the first time in over 40 years that this distinctive logo has been used on a Hanhart wristwatch.
The full Hanhart wings logo can also be found on the steel case back and strap buckle, while the winged "h" is used on the crown.
Two Register Chronograph With Tachymeter
The new Hanhart 415 ES Chronograph features a black dial with registers at 3 and 9.
The outer edge of the dial includes a tachymeter scale for measuring speed over a specific distance, as well as a red hundredths scale.
To aid in timekeeping for industrial and technical applications, the watch incorporates a decimal time scale that divides minutes into 100 units. This scale assists in managing work and production times.
Antimagnetic Technology
Hanhart designed this watch with more than three times the typical antimagnetic protection of 4,800 A/m to earn a rating of 16,000 A/m.
To achieve this higher rating, Hanhart first changed the dial material from brass to soft iron. And next, they used a special type of steel both inside and outside of the case to act as a blocking agent.
Magnetism is a primary cause of poor timekeeping in mechanical watches, so this increased rating provides needed protection against many electronic devices and gadgets.
Shock Resistance Technology
This watch features a new Hanhart shock resistance system to better stabilize and protect the movement.
Hanhart has installed gaskets on the front and back of the movement holding ring which allow the movement to slightly move in the event of a drop, hit, or other shock.
Other Special Features
Hanhart has designed special hands in a gold color for this watch. If you look closely, you'll notice that the tips of the hands are slightly bent downward to reduce the parallax effect from the domed sapphire crystal.
The case is in stainless steel with brushed and polished finishes and is fitted with a bi-directional 60 click bezel with a triangular indicator.
This watch is fitted with a tan calf leather strap.

- Domed sapphire crystal with interior AR coating
- Bi-directional 60 click rotating bezel
- Matte black dial with SuperLuminova
- Historical Hanhart wings logo
- Extended power reserve of 58 hours
