Brand New Model
WatchBuys and Eza are proud to announce a new addition to the Vintage 1972 Series, now for the fist time with an off white dial.
This new dial color perfectly matches the aesthetic and design of watches created in the 1970s without looking "old".
The Eza Vintage 1972 Off White is a modern interpretation of one of Eza's most unique and recognizable dive watches, a watch released nearly 50 years ago.
The Story
For design inspiration, the Eza team had to travel halfway across the globe to locate one of their original dive watches from 1972. An Australian watch collector had two pieces of the original production, one with a black dial and the other with a blue dial.
Once the collector agreed to sell one of the timepieces to Eza, the project was underway.
The Eza Vintage 1972 Off White aesthetics remain true to that original dive watch, while its modern build means that it is even more durable and dependable than its trusty predecessor.
A Unique Design
This watch features unique applied steel markers with additional red indices for each hour.
This model also features several upgraded features to bring the watch into the 21st century: the case is now larger at 39.6 mm and is crafted from 316L stainless steel, the domed crystal is now made from sapphire with an interior AR coating, and the bezel inlay is made of scratch-resistant black ceramic.
The 316L stainless steel is a mixed finish - brushed and polished, and the case back is engraved. This watch features a contrasting date window at 3, and SuperLuminova has been applied to the hands, major bezel markers, and bezel numerals. The watch is water resistant to 200 meters.
Quality Control Testing
The Eza Vintage 1972 Off White undergoes a rigorous set of quality control tests in two countries.
The first set of tests are performed at the atelier in Pforzheim, Germany. There, the watch undergoes a visual test, a water resistance check, and a final technical check on the movement. Each watch leaves the atelier with a unique printout of the movement timing and performance, which is adjusted in-house in six positions.
Next, the watch is shipped to Renens, Switzerland, and undergoes one final inspection before packaging and shipment are completed.
Important features of this watch include:
Domed sapphire crystal with inside AR coating
Ceramic bezel inlay
Date display at 3
Movement adjusted in six positions
316L stainless steel case
SuperLuminova on hands and hours (glows green)
Water resistant to 200 meters
The Eza Vintage 1972 Off White ships on a black marbled calf leather strap with an Eza buckle and is packaged in a piano black wooden presentation box.
And Now the Extra Goodies
When you purchase a new Eza watch from WatchBuys, you'll not only receive an outstanding mechanical watch but a number of extras to protect and maintain your watch.
This watch includes:
Black piano lacquer wooden presentation box
An additional strap - black rubber with engraved steel buckle
Eza black polishing cloth
Eza black suede travel case
Eza strap and bracelet tool
Eza Italian leather watch roll

Eza is a German watch brand born in the West German capital of watchmaking and jewelry - Pforzheim.
Pforzheim is a small city in Baden-Wurttemberg, and is not only the home of many German watch brands today but historically was among the most important cities worldwide for the production of mechanical watch movements, cases, and other watch components.
Pforzheim has also been called the "entrance to the Black Forest" due to its location in southwest Germany. The town is mostly known for its historical jewelry and watchmaking industry, which dates back more than 250 years.
The city bears the name "Goldstadt" (Gold City) in Germany, and today the city hosts a leading German watchmaking school and technical museum where interesting artifacts and machinery from the history of west German watchmaking are on display.
Watches bearing the name Eza were originally manufactured in Pforzheim by local manufacturers, one of the most important of whom was Hermann Becker. Becker and his family produced watch cases, dials and ebouches, including the in-house calibres 312 and 313.
During the 20th century Eza produced a variety of watches and complications, but were most known for divers watches. Unfortunately Eza was the victim of the "quartz crisis" as were many other watch and movement companies in Pforzheim - by 1979 all remaining 48 employees lost their jobs.
The modern history of Eza begins in 2016 when master watchmaker Adriaan Trampe wanted to create watches with a vintage look in a modern way. Adriaan took control of the Eza brand and decided to stick to the original traditions important to the brand - mechanical movements only and assembly in Pforzheim, Germany.
Eza currently offers three primary collections: AirFighter, Sealander, and Vintage. WatchBuys is proud to have been selected by Eza as their exclusive North American distributor, and we are pleased to support German watchmaking in Pforzheim.
