Built for Adventure

This watch features a striking green gradient dial, one of the most popular in the series.  The Dekla Turbulenz V1 40 Bronze Green may look like a pilot's watch, but it is built for adventures beyond the cockpit.

The Turbulenz series from Dekla is a line of tool watches focused on durability and legibility.  The dial takes inspiration from vintage cockpit clocks and pilot's watches which focused on large, legible numerals and high contrast.  The case is made from CuSn8 bronze.

Dekla is a German watch manufacture based in Stuttgart.  They specialize in the building of watch cases, certain movement parts, watch dials, and the production of hands - all in-house.  Their engineering capabilities and hands-on approach allow them to produce watches with a remarkable attention to detail.  


What's So Special About Bronze?

As bronze ages and patinas, the overall look of the watch changes with it.  For a watch like this, the bronze case allows the watch to quickly develop a vintage look that matches its historic design.

The watch case is crafted from CuSn8 bronze, with the exception of the case back which is stainless steel.  Each watch case will develop its own natural patina over time due to the gradual oxidation of the bronze, adding to the truly special nature of each piece.  
 


Just like the bronze case, the gradient green dial and hands are made in house by Dekla. 

The overall design is inspired by vintage cockpit clocks that served as true navigational tools in the air.  The anchor numerals on the quarter hours along with the triangular marker at 12 allow for a quick read of the time, and the bold indices and hands contrast well against the green gradient dial.

The numerals, hour and minute hands, and markers have BGW9 SuperLuminova applied for a strong glow in low light environments.
