Product Details

When we first met Thomas Ninchritz and saw his collection in person, the Kathedral is the first watch we picked up.  We remember telling Thomas that "it's something about the hands".  Take a look at the picture to the right and you'll see what we mean.

The Thomas Ninchritz Kathedral is one of those watches that looks great with a suit, business casual or even with jeans.  The Arabic numerals feature a design that has a bit of attitude, and those hands will make checking the time all the more interesting.

The dial is special, and is coated in silver.  This watch features a large seconds hand at 6 with a power reserve of 46 hours when fully wound.

Case is in stainless steel and is polished by hand. Black calf leather strap which is attached by screws and features an engraved tang buckle.

Thomas Ninchritz lives in Nuremberg, Germany and the Kathedral features details that you won't find in most other mechanical watches:
  • Traditional German 3/4 plate
  • Swan neck fine adjustment
  • Screwed gold chatons
  • Unique Côtes de Genève pattern
  • Perlage on inner plates
  • Blued screws
  • Hand engraved balance cock
  • Movement is rhodium plated
It is important to note that Thomas completely finishes and decorates this movement by hand. The process of engraving the balance cock alone can take up to one day, and his attention to detail is immediately noticed on this watch.

We'd also like to point out something we've never seen on a mechanical watch. You may be familiar with the process of Côtes de Genève (Geneva stripes) where the watchmaker typically applies vertical patterns to decorate the movement plates. Thomas has developed his own technique where the patterns are actually circular as can be seen from the photograph above. The result is quite unique and striking.

The Thomas Ninchritz Kathedral is a watch that goes everywhere with anything.
