This watch is a brand new release from Sinn, and was first shown to the public at the 2012 Basel Watch Fair.
It was love at first sight. There is something about the richness of the black dial, the larger case size and the overall look and feel of this watch that make you want to pick it up and claim it is yours.
Features of this new watch include:
- Black electroplated dial with sunburst decoration
- Movement modified to add a hack function to stop the seconds hand when the crown is engaged
- Glucydur screw balance
- Triovis precision regulator system
- Sapphire crystal on front and back
- Movement is beautifully finished with Cotes de Geneve, perlage, blued screws and other design touches
Also note that every minute is noted on the edge of the dial in numerical format.
The case is highly-polished stainless steel case with satinized edges. The 6110 Technik is low pressure resistant and can withstand depth pressures of up to 100 meters of water resistance.
The crown is sealed with the Sinn crown system D3 (direkt-doppel-dichtend).
We want to take a minute to explain Sinn's D3 crown system, as it works like no other.
Here is the description from Mr. Schmidt:
"In our D3-System watches, the push-piece pins and crown shafts are mounted directly in a fine-finished case aperture, creating a perfect seal to the case.
In conventional designs, the push-piece pin and crown shaft are mounted in the case hole inside a tube insert. The required tube seal not only represents an additional potential source of gas diffusion, but careless handling can also lead to loss of water resistance.
This is because the push-piece pin and the crown shaft can bend in the tube if exposed to lateral knocks, permitting moisture to penetrate.
This is a risk which also exists in screw down crowns and push-pieces when they are unscrewed to make an adjustment.
The D3-System permits the crown and push-piece to be integrated in the case, providing reliable protection from lateral knocks and the penetration of dust or moisture."
This watch features a dark blue or black calf leather strap Sinn signed tang buckle.
