A New Germany is Born
1989 was a very important year in German history.
On November 9, 1989, as the Cold War began began to fade across Eastern Europe, the spokesman for East Berlin's Communist Party announced a change in his city's relations with the West.
What happened next surprised almost everyone, with the reunification of Germany completed by October 3, 1990.
Nomos 25th Anniversary Berlin Wall
The new Nomos Orion 1989 was commissioned for the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Nomos formally released this watch on November 9, 2014 and uses the color "November Grey" for both the dial and the velour strap.
We love the dial color contrasted with the rose gold hands. The Nomos Orion Series is already among our best selling Nomos watches and we think this anniversary model makes a strong impression.
The dial is galvanized and diamond polished.
Features of this Nomos movement include decentralized seconds, hacking mechanism, Glashutte three-quarter plate, Incabloc shock protection, adjusted in six positions, tempered blue screws, rhodium-plated movement surfaces with Glashutte ribbing and Nomos perlage and ratchet and crown wheel with Glashutte sunburst.
