We knew this watch would be a home run from the moment we first saw it at the 2011 Basel Watch Fair. We are very fortunate to have just received our first pieces in this new series.
Mühle takes the inspiration for this watch from their very popular Marinus line, but for the first time adds a GMT (dual time zone) function.
The new Marinus GMT is highly legible, and fits nicely into Muhle's sports series of nautical watches. The case is built from solid stainless steel and is of three piece construction - bezel, core and back.
The display of a second time zone makes the Marinus GMT the ideal travel companion, namely a robust outdoor watch that always reliably informs you of your exact local and home time.
In order to clearly separate the time zone display and the home time display, the dial was designed with a red scale, which simultaneously refers to both the red GMT hand and the bi-directional rotating bezel on the outside, on which there is a 24-hour division for the second time zone display.
The dial is matte black with oversized Arabic numerals. We love the contrast of the black dial against the polished silver hands which are filled with SuperLuminova. The sapphire crystal is slightly domed and is 2.5 mm thick.
Watch is water resistant to 300 meters.
This watch features a Mühle modified movement with many parts produced in-house, including the woodpecker neck regulation, special rotor design and surface finishes and decorations born in the Glashutte region of Germany. Other features include a 42 hour power reserve, quick set date and hack feature.
The Marinus GMT is fitted with a natural rubber strap with tri-fold deployant buckle with security flip lock.
